BOSTON (AP) – A New Hampshire fugitive charged with sexually assaulting a 5-year-old boy in 1999 was placed on the FBI’s most wanted fugitives list on Friday.

The FBI said that Jon Savarino Schillaci, 35, is wanted on the charge stemming from Deerfield, N.H.

Officials said that Schillaci began corresponding with the boy’s family while he was serving a 10-year prison sentence for assaulting two 11-year-old boys in Texas. When he was released in 1999, the family gave him a place to live so he could attend school in Boston.

The family learned that Schillaci assaulted their son and reported it to police, the FBI said. He was indicted on Nov. 4, 1999, but failed to appear for a hearing, and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

In September 2000, Schillaci was charged with 23 additional counts of possession of child pornography.

Schillaci was described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He was born in Oklahoma and has used several aliases, including Jon Willis, Christopher Keegan and Cody Keegan, officials said.

Schillaci is the 488th person to be placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, which was established in March 1950. A reward of up to $100,000 is being offered for information leading to Schillaci’s arrest
