LEWISTON – SCORE, the volunteer business assistance group, is moving to its new home on Lisbon Street.

The agency will be closed the week of Sept. 10 while it moves from its former location in the Fairgrounds Business Park to the Business Service Center at KeyBank Plaza.

SCORE, a cadre of veteran business men and women, will reopen next to the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce at 415 Lisbon St. on Monday, Sept. 17.

The L-A Chapter has served area small businesses for the past 30 years by providing start-up advice and counseling to new entrepreneurs. Its services are at no cost and the members are volunteers who have owned, operated, or supervised successful businesses and professional practices.

In 2005 the local chapter was named Maine’s SCORE Chapter of the Year. SCORE is a partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration and has more than 12,500 members in more than 400 chapters across the nation.

The chairman of the L-A Chapter is Richard Kendall. Other officers are Jack Tetreault, Robert Parnes, Ralph Tuttle and Robert Pacios. Committee chairs include Edward Leveque, Elizabeth Hoy, Robert Sawyer, Diane Heutz and Dana Pelletier.

Counseling is scheduled by appointment and is held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The SCORE phone number is 782-3708 and its Web site address is www.lascore.org.
