LEWISTON – THRIVE Initiative youth, as well as youth from the general community working with Fox 23, wrote and filmed a public service announcement that was aired locally and nationally.

The PSA was created by youth, for youth for community and youth outreach. The objective was to dispel the stigma attached to mental health diagnosis and treatment for youth. The PSA reached more than 400,000 households in the U.S. It was aired during prime-time hours.

The PSA was entered into a national competition for community outreach tools. The voting took place in New Orleans, La., during a recent conference for Systems of Care. The winners were announced on the final day of the conference.
