NORWAY – Charles Ora “Buddy” Rowe died in his sleep on Sept. 9.

He was born in South Paris on Sept. 22, 1930, the son of Guy E. and Rose Blossom Rowe. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Paris High School in 1950.

An accomplished self-taught saxophone player, Bud played in many dance bands around Norway and South Paris. He worked for Central Maine Power Co. as a first class lineman, trouble man and line inspector for 41 years, retiring in 1991.

For 57 years, he shared his life with his wife, Thoma Tracy Rowe. Together, they enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and camping with their family. They lived in Auburn until 1975 when they moved to Oxford. Known as the Mayor of Green Pond, Bud’s sense of humor and many stories kept those around him laughing. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Donna Rowe of Auburn; a daughter, Shirley Dargie, and her husband, Ray, of Oxford; two sons, Chuck, and his wife, Dianne, and Russell, and his wife, Jenny Adams, all of South Paris; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Tom Rowe; and a grandson, Eric Dargie in 2004.
