Joan Thomas poses with her outfit at the Fancy Pants Open.

Fancy Pants Open winners announced

PHILLIPS – Although the weather was hot and humid for the second annual Fancy Pants Open held at Justafield Golf Teaching Center, the pants were colorful and amusing.

Ten women gathered for a nine-hole scramble. Fun and games were followed by lunch, awards and a trip to Bog Pond Pottery.

Jane Deely of Kingfield was voted “Wearer of the Fanciest Pants” with a row of tees encircling the lower leg. Matching tee earrings completed the outfit.

The team of Faye Chadbourne, Winona Davenport, Arlene Amos and Georgie Woodford scored a 28. Each was presented with a handcrafted hummingbird. Closest to the Pin prizes were awarded to Winona Davenport, Joan Thomas and Arlene Amos.

Last year’s winner, Georgie Woodford, was greeted by Tom Saviello, who joined the group as her caddie. As well as the usual caddie service, he furnished her lunch and a beverage. He will return in 2008 to caddie for the 2007 winner.
