LIVERMORE FALLS – The Apple-Pumpkin Festival is mostly organized, but there are still needs for volunteers, a pie contest organizer and more vendors.

The annual festival will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Livermore Falls Recreation Field. It will feature crafters, artisans, children’s games, furry and feathered friends including mice and ducks from Characters to You, educational and informative booths, food and live music.

A Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce committee has been working for months to get this year’s festival ready.

New banners announcing the festival were printed and hung on brackets on the town’s light posts by volunteers as well as “Welcome to Livermore Falls” banners.

“We’re in need of volunteers on the day of the event and we would like someone to set up a pie baking contest, Kathleen Szostek, an organizer, said Monday.

Hundreds of people visited the festival last year, she said, and she’s hoping for more this year.

“It think it’s going to be terrific. It’s nice that it will all be on the rec field,” she said.

Vendors may still commit to a booth and questions should be directed to event Chairwoman Erin Nelson at 897-3982, ext. 2214 or Bonnie Perkins at the chamber office at 897-6755. For information visit www.jay-livermore-lf.org.
