I have two children who attend Montello School and would never imagine pulling them out. I will continue to support the school, just like people there have always supported my children.
I have one child with a chronic condition that last year took her out of school more than she was in school, and Montello supported both my children through this trying time. Teachers went beyond by sending homework to us when we were out of state for medical treatment, gave extra support to her sibling who remained at home and attended school, turned a class lesson into letters of support to their classmate in the hospital, and much more.
My child is not from another country and fell under “No Child Left Behind,” and passed with flying colors because of all the support from Montello School.
Here is one for thought: the teachers give positive support and encouragement to a child who is having an off-day, never faulting parents during this process. Now Montello is going through an off-time and the parents return the favor to an awesome school by pulling their kids. This concept makes no sense to me.
I feel proud that I decided to keep my children at Montello because people there can cope with the challenges of a large school and can adjust to change and do it with pride.
When you walk into Montello, you can sense that every single staff member takes pride in that school.
