GREENE – James “Jim” W. Bonney, 61, of Bergeron Road, Greene, died Sept. 12, at his home surrounded by his family who he loved.

He was born in Lewiston, the son of Ovia and Ina Hurst Nurmi. Jim graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1962. He had previously been married to Patricia Hunt and Betty Lou Hallowell.

He was self-employed, transporting mobile homes for 41 years, and for the past 37 years, he owned and operated Jim’s Mobile Home Service, where he hauled the first 14-foot wide mobile home down the Maine Turnpike.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching boxing, playing cribbage, four-wheeling and camping.

He is survived by his fiancé, who was also his constant companion of more than 20 years, Joline Feely of Greene, who loved him dearly; three sons, Robert Bonney of South Paris, William Hallowell of Goodlettsville, Tenn., and Brian Bonney of Fredericksburg, Va.; three daughters, Ann Piela of Lisbon Falls, Angel Bonney of Lisbon Falls and Amy Bonney of Auburn; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas Nurmi, and his wife, Merilee, of Otisfield.

He was predeceased by Merton Bonney in 1947.
