NEW YORK – Jesse M. Millett, 78, of Vestal, N.Y., passed away on Friday, Sept. 7, after a brief illness.
He was born May 18, 1929, in Lisbon, son of Iva and Joseph Albert Millett. He was a member of the first class at Rochester Institute of Technology to recieve a bachelor of science in photographic engineering.
He was employed at GE as a photographer and later at GAF as a photochemist. An avid photographer, he was a member of the Royal Photographic Society and Imaging Science & Technology.
He was an active longtime member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He was also actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America earning the Silver Beaver Award for his volunteer work.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia T. Millett; his children, Drew of Vestal N.Y., and Laura of Berkeley, Calif.; two grandchildren, Roan and Quinn of Berkeley, Calif.; and a sister, Dorothy Jackson of Monmouth.
He was predeceased by his brother, Winfield Millett.
