NEW GLOUCESTER – Classic Quilters will be at Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26, on Saturday, Sept. 29, to show everyone the basics of patchwork quilting in just one hour. Apple Saturdays are held at Shaker Village. A Shaker orchard exhibit, orchard walks and pick-your-own will be offered on Sept. 22, Sept. 29 and Oct. 6. Preregistration is required. Fees are $6.50 for adults; $2, children; under 6, free.

Each Apple Saturday will also feature a special event: Sept. 22, apple pie sale; Sept. 29, press your own apples; Oct. 6, cider and doughnut sale.
