FARMINGTON – Police seized more than 270 marijuana plants during an air and ground search for the illegal crop this week in Franklin County.
During Wednesday’s eradication mission, 108 healthy, mature plants with a street value estimated at $225,000 were uprooted in the Salem and Freeman townships area, Franklin County Sheriffs Lt. Niles Yeaton said Thursday.
On Thursday, police seized 171 plants, with an esimated street value of $200,000 from Eustis and Sandy River Plantation.
Charges as a result of the operation were pending, according to police.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Department were the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the University of Maine at Farmington Police.
Last week, police confiscated more than 250 pot plants in Franklin County.
