POLAND – Junior forward Colleen Rideout scored a pair of goals in each half to lead St. Dom’s to a 7-0 victory over Poland in field hockey action.

Rideout’s two goals in the first half gave the Saints a 2-0 halftime edge.

Katie Landry opened the second half with a score on one of four assists from Mary Lewis. Lewis and Arienne Bowie would also tallied goals for St. Dom’s (2-0).

Dezaray DeBurra turned away 19 shots for Poland (2-1).

Belfast 1, Oak Hill 0

BELFAST – Christine Hill fired a shot from the top of the circle after picking up a pass from Briana Curry on a penalty corner with 6:01 left in overtime to give Belfast a dramatic 1-0 win over Oak Hill (2-2) on Thursday.

Oak Hill midfielders Natalie Caron and Kayla Clark were solid through 14 penalty corners in Belfasts’ (2-1-1) favor, making key defensive plays to keep the Raiders alive. Oak Hill goalie Brittany Wood held her own under a barrage of shots, ending the contest with 30 saves.

Cony 4, EL 0

AUBURN – Kristen Felt scored the opening goal of the second half and earned two assists as Cony blanked Edward Little 4-0 in field hockey action Thursday.

Kayla Belanger had a goal and an assist, while Alyssa Dufour and Shelby Pelkey rounded out the offensive effort for the Rams (4-1) with a goal a piece. Cony held the advantage in shots on goal, 18-5, and in penalty corners, 15-3. Keeper Natalie Fecteau stopped just five shots to earn the shutout against EL (3-2-1). Eddies goalie Ashley Butler faced 14 shots.

Soccer

Mountain Valley 4, Madison 0

RUMFORD – Three different players scored and earned an assist as Mountain Valley posted a 4-0 win over Madison Thursday afternoon in girls’ soccer.

Savanna Ford, Terissa Ridge, and Jessie Sirois each scored and were credited with assists for the Falcons (3-2). Hillary Dollof added another goal, and Autumn Gudbrandser added an assist for the win.

Kari McPherson turned aside four shots for Mountain Valley.

EL 2, Leavitt 0

TURNER – Kathryn St. Hilaire and Frankie Lally each scored second-half goals to give Edward Little a 2-0 victory over Leavitt in KVAC soccer action.

St. Hilaire fired a shot from the right hand side of the field after picking up a through pass from Dani Paul.

Lally netted the insurance goal off a feed from Alice Read to secure the Eddies’ (3-1) win.

For Leavitt (1-4), Tasha Varney had some key defensive plays to slow down the Edward Little offensive effort.

Dirigo 3, Lisbon 0

DIXFIELD – Sophomore Lindsey Brann scored a pair of goals, and Lanette Bryant turned away all nine shots she faced to lead Dirigo to a 3-0 win in a girls’ MVC soccer match.

Brann’s first-half goal put the Cougars up 1-0 going into halftime. She opened the second half with a goal from an assist by Emily Chase. Tricia Turner capped off the scoring with an unassisted goal, giving Dirigo its first win of the season.

Lisbon’s Samantha Purcell made a pair of saves in net.

Cony 3, Lewiston 2

LEWISTON – Mackenzie Dufour fired a point-blank shot from inside the penalty box to score the game winning goal, giving Cony the 3-2 victory over Lewiston on Thursday.

Lewiston (0-3) got on the board first with two back-to-back goals by Julia Bergeron. Dufour cut the lead in half with her first of two goals before Tori Fowler tied up the game going into the second half.

Dufour notched the game-winner with just 6:38 left in the contest.

Both goalies had strong performances with Cony’s (3-2) Kylie Cheever making 22 saves and Katie Cobb stopping 19 shots for the Blue Devils.

Monmouth 5, Boothbay 0

MONMOUTH – Junior Jess Gray scored a hat trick and had an assist to help lead Monmouth to a 5-0 victory over Boothbay in a girls’ MVC soccer tilt Thursday.

The Mustangs, now 2-2, took a 3-0 halftime behind the lead of senior midfielder Jenn Lola by controlling the field as they outshot the Seahawks 20-8. Suzi Chick and Amber Sager also added goals in the victory.

Katie Woodman made four saves in goal for Monmouth.
