MAYNARD, Mass. – Frederick W. Mallonee died Thursday, July 31, at home with family and friends at his side.
He was born April 9, 1933, in Chicago, Ill. He attended Monmouth Academy, Monmouth, where he was a member of the honor society and obtained the Bausch & Lomb science award. He graduated from Northeastern University, Class of 1955.
He was employed by Sanborn Co. in Waltham and later for Genrad Inc. in Concord, Mass. Upon retiring, he enjoyed working for the Martin family at Honey Pot Orchard, Stow, Mass., guiding the visitors to the picks of the day.
He was a past treasurer of the Maynard Lodge of Elks. He was an avid lover of classical music, history, art and fine wines. He was a man of many interests including photography, chess, gardening and his beloved sports.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carole A. (Dalton); four children, Faith and Barbara of Maynard, Frederick R., and his wife, Janae, of Marlboro and William T., and his wife, Jennifer, of Auburn; three grandchildren, Meredith, Ali Marie and Ryan; his sister, Barbara Byam, and husband, William, of Bedford; and a niece and nephew, Bonnie and Scott Byam.
He was predeceased by his son, Robert.
