LEWISTON – Cecile R. Reny, 91, formerly of 334 East Ave., Lewiston, died Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Marshwood Nursing Home.

Born in Lewiston on June 29, 1916, she was the daughter of Gedeon and Edwina LaFlamme Gousse. Educated in local schools, she married Victor R. Reny on Dec. 10, 1938, and together they moved to Burbank, Calif., in 1952, where she was employed for many years as an assembler in the aircraft manufacturing industry.

Following her husband’s death on Jan. 20, 1987, she returned to Maine in 1989, in order to be near her family. Cecile will be remembered for her bright, pleasant smile. Even when she was suffering with a variety of illnesses during her last years, her smile would light up the room.

A member of Holy Family Parish, she is survived by two sisters, Louise Allen of Ocean Park, and Anita Lamontagne Peterson and husband, Wallace, of Canterbury, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by six brothers, William, Albert, George, Paul, Louis and Maurice Gousse; and three sisters, Bella Giguere, Germaine Bellegarde and Yvonne Labbe.
