Grange to install
WINTHROP – Winthrop Grange 209 will hold on open meeting for installation of officers at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the hall on Old Lewiston Road. The hall is handicap accessible. State Deputy Vernon Dunn of Belgrade and his installing suite will perform the ceremony. Refreshments will conclude the evening.
Seniors to meet
AUBURN – First Auburn Seniors met recently at the Hasty Memorial Center with President Pat Records presiding. New members Lennie Godbout and Carolyn Adams were welcomed. Prizes were won by Annie Demers, Pat Records, Ralph Lashua, Guy Donahue and Phil Cyr.
The next meeting will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, for a chicken dinner. Members should bring their utensils. Tickets will be on sale for the Halloween party on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Cost is $4. Plans are being finalized for the fall fair and flea market to be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Hasty Memorial Armory at Pettengill Park. There will be a white elephant table, crafts, jewelry, baked goods and raffles.
OES session
LISBON FALLS – Pioneer Chapter 11, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Ancient York Masonic Hall on Route 196. Members will honor Star Points. The Grand Star Points have been invited and will perform a special Star Point Ceremony. The community service project this month is the March of Dimes and there will be a dime collection. The evening will begin with an ESTARL supper at 6 p.m. Donations of $3 for the supper will be given to the ESTARL Scholarship fund that supports individuals pursuing an education in religious leadership. Pine Cone Chapter 26 in Auburn and Lakeside Chapter 60 of Sabattus will assist in the supper. All members of the order are invited.
