LEWISTON – The Maine Hospice Council and Center for End-of-Life Care with Maine’s Office of the Attorney General will host a series of town hall meetings, including one in Lewiston on Sept. 20.

The community is invited to discuss end-of-life care with Attorney General Steven Rowe and other state leaders:

What is working well?

What is missing?

Is pain being managed?

Are wishes being respected?

These and other questions will be addressed by state leaders and a panel of local resource people. The meetings are a follow-up to a consumer protection conference held in September 2004. State officials now want to hear about end-of-life-care issues from communities as they plan health care.

The Lewiston meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Androscoggin Bank Coliseé (Shipyard Lounge). Other meetings will be held in Machias, Waterville, Bangor, Presque Isle, Damariscotta and Portland.
