FARMINGTON – Emma F. “Frannie” McLeod, 96, a resident of the Edgewood Manor Rehabilitation and Living Center, died Sept. 12, at the home.
She was born July 19, 1911, in Searsport, the daughter of Webster and Isabelle (Card) Staples. She graduated from Searsport High School and married Harold “Mac” McLeod. Together they were self-employed and owned a bar and pool hall. They resided in Rockland and Salem throughout their married life.
She enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, gardening and cooking.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews and special “grandchildren,” Scott Howard, and his wife, Angie, of Gardiner, Pamala Sweetser, and her husband, Wilmot, of Freeman, Frankie Howard and family of Strong, Frank Howard of Freeman and longtime companion, George Eberhard of Pinellas Park, Fla.
She was predeceased by her husband, Mac; siblings, Russell, Elmer and Alfred Staples, Janie Curtis, Bertha Daggett, Ruthie Stewart, Edith Larvy, Georgia Oxton and Eugena Bridges; and several nieces and nephews.
