LEWISTON – “Hypnotherapy for People with Cancer” will be the topic of discussion at the Wednesday, Sept. 19, meeting of the Cancer Wellness and Support Group at Central Maine Medical Center.
Registered nurse Valerie St.Clair, a certified hypnotherapist who specializes in complementary medical hypnosis, will discuss hypnotherapy as a stress reduction tool for cancer patients and their families. She will also discuss ways to decrease discomfort and anxiety before and during treatments, surgery and chemotherapy.
The program will be offered from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Conference Room I, lower level, 12 High Street Medical Office Building.
The CMMC Cancer Wellness and Support Group is open to people living with cancer, as well as their spouses/partners, family members and caregivers.
