FARMINGTON – Church Street will be closed to traffic and parking starting Thursday so that reconstruction of the street can begin on or about Sept. 21.
The street will remain closed until reopened by the town when conditions allow. Any vehicles left on the street after Sept. 20 will be towed at their owner’s expense.
The project will begin with pavement reclaiming. The work, which involves granite curbing, concrete sidewalks and new pavement, is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete.
Alternative access routes and parking areas will have to be used. The county parking lot off Church Street will remain accessible at its western entrance.
