FARMINGTON – Emile J. Henry, 87, of Jay, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Sandy River Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation, Route 133, where he had resided for more than two years.

He was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Riley, a son of Pressilien and Suzanne (Maillet) Henry. He received his education in Jay schools and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.

On June 9, 1947, he married Jeannette Pomerleau at St. Rose of Lima Church, Jay. A life-long resident of Jay, he retired in 1982 from International Paper Co. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Jay and was a member of the IP Quarter Century Club and the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 of Jay.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jeannette of Jay; their children, Patricia Ouellette, and her husband, Raymond, Roger Henry, and his wife, Deborah, all of Jay, Pamela Davis, and her husband, John, of East Livermore, Paula Henry of Jay, Randy Henry, and his wife, Karen, of Leeds and Penny Henry of Jay; a special niece, Diane Breton of Jay; grandchildren, Michael Ouellette, Bambi Youngs, Sarah Hill, Joshua Davis, Justin Henry, Elizabeth Henry and Alex Henry; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Oswald Henry of Livermore Falls; and a sister, Delia Sprague of Wilton.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Sandy River for the wonderful care they gave him.
