LEWISTON – Ernestine Baumer, 80, of Lisbon Falls died Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Central Maine Medical Center from complications of lung cancer with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Mannerstorf, Austria, Nov. 27, 1926, a daughter of Franz and Maria Weninger Gubier. She was educated in Austria and was married to Reinhold A. Baumer Nov. 1, 1947. He died July 7, 2006.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon Falls and was retired from Grumbacker Brush Co. in Brunswick.

She enjoyed giving and doing for people, always lending a helping hand.

She loved traveling and gardening, eating out and shopping.

She will be remembered for her german cooking and pastries.

She is survived by a daughter, Joanne, and her husband, Gary Huston, of Lisbon Falls; two sons, John Baumer, and his wife, Pauline, of Lisbon and Max Baumer of Sunnyvale, Calif.; a granddaughter, Karen Gagne, and her husband, Peter, of Old Orchard Beach; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Gagne, and fiancée, Jason Hebert; a brother, Franz Gubier of Mannerstrof, Austria; several in-laws; nieces and nephews in Maine, Massachusetts and Austria.
