W ith a contagious smile and infectious attitude toward life, Amy Young of Lewiston enjoys life to its fullest.
Down syndrome has not affected her bubbly personality that is seen at events such as Concerts in the Park, where Young, 27, enthusiastically passes out folding chairs and assists seniors to their seats.
“I enjoy making people happy,” says Young. “It gives me a sense of pride and makes me feel like I am a contributing part of the community.”
She also can be found at nursing homes, doling out cake to residents while sharing her smile and kindness.
“Life is good to me; I am strong, I believe in God and myself and my dream will someday come true,” she says.
