LEWISTON – Germaine N. Caron, 89, of 63 Fair St., Lewiston, and formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 17, at the Family Connection adult boarding home, where she had been a resident for the last year.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 19, 1918, the daughter of Frederic and Florine Violette Nadeau. Educated in local schools, she was married to Dr. Victor A. Caron, who passed away on Feb. 6, 1968.

She worked as a dental technician in her husband’s practice for several years. After her husband’s death, she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 1973, and returned to the local area in 2005.

A member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, she is survived by four nieces, Anita Collins, and husband, David, of Old Orchard Beach, Claire Freeman, and husband, Thom, of Wrentham, Mass., Pauline Shufeldt, and husband, James, of South Portland and Lucy Tanner, and husband, Robert, of Falmouth; and a special friend, Claire Shufeldt Tewhey of Lewiston.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Paul, John and Ernest Nadeau; and three sisters, Camilia Freve, Laura Fortin and Antoinette Mennealy.

The family would like to thank Lorraine and Ron Coulombe and all the staff at Family Connections for the loving care they gave Germaine during her stay with them.
