LEWISTON – Jeanne M. Tardif, 94, a resident of 18 Louise Ave., Lewiston, died peacefully Thursday, Sept. 20, at Marshwood Health Care Facility with her family by her side.
She was born in Scotstown, P.Q., Canada, Dec. 8, 1912, the daughter of Alphonse and Volumnie (Dumoulin) Gobeil.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church, and had been a resident of Lewiston since 1933. She had worked in the local shoe industry as a stitcher, and married Jean Paul Tardif on June 13, 1942.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel Tardif, and his wife, Susan, of Sanford and Richard Tardif, and his wife, Rachel, of Sabattus; one daughter, Patricia Hogan of Kennebunk; eight grandchildren, Mrs. Douglas (Danielle) Averill of Litchfield, Michelle Bosse of Brunswick, Mrs. Scott (Nicole) Anthoine of Auburn, Marc Tardif of Arvada, Colo., Matthew Tardif, and his wife, Kim, of Springvale, Brian Tardif of Orlando, Fla., Jennifer Hogan of Gorham and Rob Hogan of Kennebunk; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas Bosse of Sabattus and Kaitlyn Bosse of Brunswick, Matthew and Jonathon Averill of Litchfield and Brennan and Patrick Anthoine of Auburn.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jean Paul Tardif on Oct. 11, 2000; as well as three brothers, Lucien, Fernand and Maurice Gobeil.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Marshwood Health Care for the excellent care they provided their mother, Jeanne during her illness.
