WILTON – Women, Work, and Community is sponsoring a free workshop for anyone interested in starting a business.

The workshop will be held at the Wilton Career Center in Wilton on Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon.

This introductory 3-hour workshop will explain the pros and cons of owning a business, show how to get started, point out elements of a business plan, introduce resources available in the Franklin County area and help attendees decide whether self employment is the right choice.

Women, Work, and Community is a statewide non-profit organization committed to improving the economic lives of Maine women and their families. The organization works with individuals “where they are” and provides them with support, guidance, and the tools they need to take the next steps toward a more promising future. Women, Work, and Community provides individual assistance and group training in building careers, starting and growing businesses, planning for financial security, and becoming community leaders. All services are free.
