LEWISTON – Mary E. Brann, 78, of the Dickvale Road in Peru, died Friday, Sept. 21, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.

She was born in Rumford, on March 26, 1929, a daughter of Harold G. and Minnie (Small) Chase.

She was educated in Dixfield schools and moved to Peru after her marriage to Lawrence L. Brann on April 5, 1947. Together they had three children, Wendell, Sandy and Gina. After the death of her daughter Sandy, she raised her grandson Zachary.

She was employed for many years as an inspector at Diamond Match Co. in Peru.

She enjoyed playing beano and Yahtzee, birdwatching, and going for rides to look for deer and moose. She also loved snowmobiling, watching her game shows and her dog Bandit. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing and made many wedding gowns and prom dresses.

The family will remember her as a loving and caring person who would put the needs of others before her own.

She is survived by a daughter, Gina Moro of Peru; a sister, Donna M. Taylor, and husband, Robert M., of Dixfield; six grandchildren, Fawn Mercer, Scottiann Welch, Zachary Small, KC Moro, Wesley Moro and Wendy Moro; and five great-grandchildren, Kassandra Mercer, Emilee Mercer, Bailey Mercer, Gerran Welch and Abby Welch; two nieces, Darlene Whitaker and Laurie Taylor; and three nephews, Chris Taylor, Scott Taylor and Corey Taylor.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husbandm Lawrence; a sonm Wendell; a daughter, Sandra; and a sister, Betty Chase.
