There have been a series of articles concerning the troubles of Richardson Hollow Associates that have been very critical of its founder and chief executive, Linda Hertell.
I have worked as a clinical consultant to RHA since it was founded and have worked with many of the staff members who the newspaper has interviewed. I can certainly understand and sympathize with their anger.
However, I believe that it is important to have a balanced perspective on Linda. Whatever her shortcomings as an administrator, she did start the organization out of nothing but an idea and her own energy.
Over a period of nine years, this agency has provided high quality services to thousands of people and provided up to 200 jobs in this area. Many of these services and these jobs are going to continue to be provided by an organization that is stable and has a long-term commitment to high quality services.
