AUBURN – Ruth W. Enos, 86, a resident of Butter Hill Road, Livermore, went home to be with her Lord, Friday afternoon, Sept. 21, at Hospice House of Androscoggin where she had been a patient.
Ruth was born July 2, 1921, in Livermore, the daughter of Arthur H. and Ida B. (Records) Wilkins. She was a 1939 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.
On Feb. 22, 1949, in Oxford, she married Warren “Jake” Enos and was a very devoted wife. She worked for New England Telephone Co. in Livermore Falls and Canton, and at Blue Line Bus Service as a bookkeeper.
She was a member of the Civil Defense during the late ’40s and ’50s.
She was a member of the Jay Baptist Church and her daily devotion was a source of strength in their daily life.
She enjoyed bird watching, hunting, fishing, and their camp in Rockwood. She loved knitting, crocheting, gardening and canning. She enjoyed the love and fellowship of many family gatherings. She was a wonderful all-around homemaker.
Although they had no children, all family, neighbors and friends knew her as Aunt Ruth. She loved children and they were a large part of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Warren “Jake” Enos, of Livermore; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Merton, Oscar, Earl and Zury Wilkins; and her sister, Avis Arnold.
