If you play dodge-em (dodging man-hole covers) while driving, read on. We all do, or at least try.

There needs to be a specification on placement of manholes for utility access. If there were, i.e., in the center of travel lanes, we all could avoid the sudden bump-bump associated with hitting the manhole.

Imagine the savings in tire balancing, front-end alignment and just wear and tear?

I would like to see the Maine Department of Transportation develop a specification for placement, statewide. That would help to make driving a little more enjoyable.
