Topsham – Germaine B. Letourneau, 90, formerly of 173 Pine St., Lewiston, passed away on Friday, Sept. 21, at the Amenity Manor.
She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 1, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Marianne Garant Baillargeon. She was educated at St. Peter’s Parochial School and was married to William O. “Bill” Letourneau, July 3, 1937, and he predeceased her on May 7, 1990.
Prior to her retirement in 1971, she was employed as a cloth inspector at the Hill division of Bates Manufacturing for 37 years. She then worked for five years in the cleaning department at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Germaine was a longtime member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish and the Lewiston senior citizens. She enjoyed dancing and traveling. She lived a full and happy life and was loved by many.
She is survived by a son, Bertrand D. Letourneau and wife, Christine, of Wiscasset; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Roger Letourneau; and a daughter, Jacqueline Caron and her husband, Alphee.
