ROCKLAND (AP) – Rockland police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy who was killed when he was hit by a car in the parking lot of an apartment complex where he lived.

The victim, identified as Connor Knight, was playing in the parking lot late Monday afternoon when a car driven by 22-year-old Crystal Davey backed into the child.

Police say Davey told them she didn’t see the boy, who was taken to Penobscot Bay medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Police said Davey was arrested for an outstanding warrant, and could face additional charges in connection with the boy’s death.
