BERLIN, N.H. – Anita M. (Pelletier) Plourde, 83, and longtime Arlington Street resident, passed away in the early afternoon hours of Sept. 25, at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital.

She was born in Ashland, on April 1, 1924, a daughter of the late Victor and Agnes (Dusto) Pelletier. She attended local schools, and moved to Berlin in 1954. She was married to Louis P. Plourde, and they had one son.

She was a homemaker and a longtime communicant of the former St. Kieran parish, now known as St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd parish. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary as well as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In her earlier years, she was also involved with the Joliette Snowshoe Club.

She is survived by her son, James “Jimmy” Harkins of Lewiston; her longtime companion, Conrad Meunier of Berlin; her brother, George Norman Pelletier of Lewiston; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis P. Plourde on Aug. 19, 1986; her brothers, Patrick, Emile, Ludger and Jean Pelletier; and her sisters, Corinna Thomas, Exilia Vattes, Nora Caron, Freda Cloutier, Jeannette Parkins and Gertrude Randall.
