LIVERMORE – The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will hold a meeting and kickoff luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 4, at Lake Shore Restaurant, Route 4.

Bean takeouts

NEW SHARON – There will be a family baked bean take-out meal from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 6, at New Sharon Congregational United Church of Christ, Cape Cod Hill Road. The meal includes a quart of baked beans, a pint of coleslaw, yeast rolls or brown bread and family size homemade pie for $14. To reserve meals, call Mary at 778-2366.

College info in Jay

JAY – Parents of Jay High School seniors are invited to attend an information session regarding the college search and application process at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the high school library.

Topics will include the search and application process, available resources for parents and students, college visitation information and suggestions, as well as a review of the high school guidance office resources and procedures. Contact the high school guidance office at 897-4336 with questions.

Crafters needed

STRONG – Crafters are wanted for a craft fair being held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Strong School, 110 North Main St.

The fair is being sponsored by the eighth-grade class and proceeds will be used to fund their end-of-the-year class trip in June.

Crafters wanting to participate should call the school at 684-3521 to reserve a table. There is no designated cost for the table space, however donations are requested.

Homemakers

CHESTERVILLE – The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the Chesterville Town Office, Dutch Gap Road. The meeting will include program planning, election of officers and finishing the gingerbread men ornaments for the Chester Greenwood Festival of Trees. Members are asked to bring a donation for the Franklin County Animal Shelter. All meetings are free and open to the public.
