Small-town celebrity birthplace of the week: Tioga, Texas (current population about 750). Cowboy star Gene Autry was born there in 1907. Autry is the only celebrity with five stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one each for movies, radio, TV, recordings and live theater.

n There are two “degrees of separation” between Gwyneth Paltrow and Gwen Verdon (whose real first name was also Gwyneth). Verdon was in the Woody Allen film “Alice” with Alec Baldwin, who was in “Running With Scissors” with Paltrow. The name “Gwyneth” is a Welsh word meaning “luck” or “happiness.”
