LEWISTON – Dick Albert, a local business and community leader, will serve as campaign chairman for the 2007-2008 United Way of Androscoggin County campaign.

Albert will lead the volunteer cabinet in formulating and implementing campaign plans to establish and achieve the community fundraising goal.

“It is my privilege and honor to serve as the campaign chair for United Way of Androscoggin County this year,” said Albert.

Albert has worked in the insurance business for 31 years and is senior vice president at Parent Insurance, a United Insurance Group agency. Albert is treasurer of the Lewiston Education Foundation, a member of the Kora Shrine and board member for United Way of Androscoggin County.

In prior years, Albert has served as chairman of the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce, president of the Maine Insurance Association and was a member of the state/national Board of Independent Insurance Agents.

“As campaign chair, my goal is to make a positive difference by educating people about the work of United Way and encouraging support for the organization on all levels – from employees and executives at larger corporations to local business owners and within small companies,” said Albert.
