LEWISTON – La Rencontre will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the Franco-American Heritage Center.

The menu will include chicken rice soup, shepherd’s pie, rolls and butter, apple crisp and ice cream and beverage. The price is $7 a person.

The entertainment will feature a series of humorous animated clips from “Tete a claque” TV and a film on the “Expulsion of the Acadians.”

It is the first time La Rencontre will feature a film rather than live entertainment. The majority of those who attend these gatherings have Canadian or Acadian roots and the film is about their story and their heritage.
