LEWISTON – Crews are busy transforming the former Aubuchon Hardware store into three separate offices, two of which have already been leased.

By mid-November, H&R Block and Pinnacle Rehabilitation should move into the newly renovated offices at 1190 Lisbon St. The building’s owner, Phyllis St. Laurent, is doing a wholesale upgrade of the building, which housed the former hardware store for decades.

“She’s redeveloping the whole building,” said David Caron of Malone Commercial Brokers, who brokered the leases. “She’s putting on a whole new facade … it’s going to be really nice when she’s done with it.”

Caron said the H&R Block office will be open year-round, not just for the tax season. Its neighbor, Pinnacle Rehabilitation, will offer physical therapy services.

The building’s size – 6,800 square feet – made it difficult to find a single tenant, said Caron, which prompted the decision to subdivide it. There are still 2,460 square feet of office space that haven’t been leased.

The lease agreements with the two new tenants were signed earlier this month.
