Ken Burns’ film, “The War,” is superbly researched and presented to the viewing audience. It captures the feeling of many of the young men of the era and effectively presents the horrors of war. If ever there was a “just or neccessary war,” this was one.

We, as a people, must never forget the almost certain outcome if the Allied powers had not won. Nor must we forget the sacrifices made by thousands of young men and women.

As one World War II-era writer put it, “Many gave all their tomorrows so others could have one.”
