Unless otherwise noted, the following will be arraigned in Rumford District Court:
• Erin Farrington, 22, Mexico, operating after suspension, 8:39 a.m. Sept. 20 on Hancock Street.
She was released on $200 unsecured bail and will be arraigned Dec. 4.
• Jeremy Richards, 36, Rumford, operating after suspension and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, 9:12 a.m. Sept. 19 on York Street. He was released on personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned on Nov. 6.
• Joshua Tibbetts, 20, Rumford, theft, 2:23 p.m. Sept. 18 on Waldo Street. He was released on $200 cash bail and will be arraigned on Nov. 7.
Accidents
• Sept. 19, 3:10 p.m. – Five vehicles were involved in a chain reaction accident on Lincoln Avenue that began when an unknown vehicle slowed for traffic to possibly turn left into a pullout area where produce was being sold.
William Morse, 83, of Mexico stopped for the unknown vehicle and his 1996 Buick was struck from behind by a 1999 Mercury driven by Kevin Murphy, 52, of Dixfield. A 1991 Buick driven by Buddy McLain, 21, of Mexico, stopped suddenly to avoid Murphy’s car. McLain’s car was then struck from behind by a 1998 Subaru station wagon operated by Mark St. Cyr, 48, of Rumford, who was unable to stop in time. The impact forced McLain’s Buick into the rear of Murphy’s car. No one was injured. Damage to St. Cyr’s Subaru was estimated at $2,500; to McLain’s Buick, $400; and $100 each to Murphy’s Mercury and Morse’s Buick.
• Sept. 18, 5:38 p.m. – A 1995 Hyundai driven by George W. Tuttle, 16, of Mexico, which was traveling west on Lincoln Avenue, turned left onto Hancock Street striking a 1993 Ford sport-utility vehicle operated by Joey Smith, 45, of Mexico.
Neither was injured. Tuttle’s car sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage; to Smith’s SUV, $2,000.
