Lunch canceled
RUMFORD – The Stephens High School Class of 1952 lunch has been canceled. The lunch was scheduled for Monday at the Front Porch. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
Church supper
RUMFORD – The Rumford United Methodist Church will hold a public supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the fellowship hall. The menu will be baked beans, casseroles, salad and pies. The cost is $6 for adults and $2 for children. There is now additional parking in a paved lot behind the church. Drive through the upper driveway and walk down to the lower door.
Benefit night
RUMFORD – A benefit for Rob LaPointe will be held at Teena’s Lounge from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Oct. 6. Music will be provided by the the Cribbles and members of the Hooligans.
Cost will be $5 at the door, and there will be raffles, 50/50 and munchies. Patriots vs. Steelers raffle tickets are available now. LaPointe was in a motorbike accident in June. He suffered many injuries, including head trauma, and still has a long recovery ahead. For more information, call 364-8798.
Horse show
ANDOVER – The Ellis River Riders horse club will hold the annual fall fun show on Saturday, Oct. 13. The show will start at 9 a.m. and there will be fast and fun games on horseback for all ages and abilities.
