Sen. Olympia Snowe and Sen. Susan Collins recently voted to support Bush’s upcoming war with Iran.

In voting for the Kyl/Lieberman amendment, which designated Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a terror organization, they voiced their approval to use “military instruments” against Iran to block destabilizing efforts in Iraq conducted by “the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its foreign facilitators such as Lebanese Hezbollah, and its indigenous Iraqi proxies.”

The Bush administration claims to have evidence of Iranian involvement in Iraq, and that the public should just trust officials on this one. However, outgoing chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Peter Pace has stated that he knows of no evidence linking the Iranian government to the attacks on Americans in Iraq.

Along with 74 other senators, the Maine delegation caved in to Bush pressure and have brought our country closer to war with Iran.
