WOODSTOCK – John Bradford of Brooklin, representing the Republican Leadership Council, will be the speaker at the Tuesday, Oct. 9, meeting of the Oxford County Republican Committee to be held at Franklin Grange 124 on Route 26.

The evening will begin with a 5:30 p.m. social hour, then a 6:30 dinner followed by the speaker and a short business meeting.

All area Republicans are invited .

Oxford County Republicans have volunteered to run the party’s booth at the Fryeburg Fair.

The booth contains information on Republican candidates and issues.

The following volunteers were organized by Becky Kendall: Joan Putnam, Jarrod Crockett, Paul Billings, Barbara Robinson, Bruce Hanley, Neil Hanley, Rob and Louanne Cameron, Dennis Doyon, Arlan and Eleanor Jodrey, Dan Bolling, Virginia Noble, Paula Smith, Earl Bell, Norm Ferguson, Paul Ramsey, Dot Bartlett, Bruce and Nancy Conant, Harry Faulkner, George Hooper, Sawin Millett and Stan Howe.

Any Republican wishing to join the above in hosting the booth during Fryeburg Fair week should call Becky Kendall at 824-3196.

Republicans in the Maine House of Representatives District 99, which contains the Oxford County town of Denmark, recently elected Ralph Sarty Jr. of Denmark as their nominee for the seat previously held by Rep. Phil Cressey, R-Cornish.

Sarty serves as chairman of the Denmark Board of Selectmen.

He is retired from the Maine State Police and the Maine Warden Service and is also a small business owner. Married for 37 years, he has three children and five grandchildren.

Tony Payne, executive director, Alliance for Maine’s Future, was the speaker at the Sept. 11 meeting of the Oxford County Republican Committee held at the Stoneham Congregational Church.

Following a supper served by a family representing the Daughters of Union Veterans,

Payne outlined his non-partisan organization’s ideas for changing Maine’s economy and suggested new approaches to the issues facing the state.

The next monthly meeting will be on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
