NEWRY – Sunday River Christian Ministry’s annual interdenominational worship service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, during the resort’s Fall Festival Weekend.

Worshipers can have a free chairlift ride or hike up to the North Peak Lodge. Lift 6 will carry everyone close to the lodge where a short walk downhill will take them to the deck.

The praise-filled service lasts about an hour. Music will be provided by the Mollyockett Chorus and gospel singer Cynthia Clark.

Lyme disease

PARIS – A Lyme disease support group meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Hope and Healing Center, 52 High St. For more information, contact Tracy Poland at 674-2781.

Kids’ bowling

NORWAY – The Norway Parks and Recreation Department will start the After-School Bowling Program at Hobb’s Lucky Lanes on Thursday, Oct. 11. The eight-week program will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

It is for Guy Rowe School students in grade two through six. The registration fee is $10 and there is a $5 weekly fee at the bowling center. The fees include SAD 17 bus transportation from the Rowe School to the lanes, shoe rental and strings bowled.

Parents are to pick up their children no later than 4:30 p.m. at the lanes. High school and middle school students are welcome to sign up, but must provide their own transportation.

Circle supper

PARIS – The Ladies Circle, First Congregational Church, will sponsor a baked bean supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12.

Menu will include baked beans, casseroles, salads, hot dogs, brown bread, homemade rolls and homemade pies.

Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Crafters invited

OTISFIELD – Crafters and artists are invited to join the first Otisfield Community School craft fair being held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. Rental space is available for $25. Bring a table or rent one; cost is $4 for a four-foot table, $5 for a five-foot table or $6 for a six-foot table.

BUCKFIELD – Applications for SAD 39 Operation Santa Claus are available at the Buckfield Town Office for residents of Buckfield, Hartford. and Sumner. They have to be returned no later than Monday, Oct. 22.

BRIDGTON – Bob Dunning will present a lecture on the historical significance of the architectural wonders of the area at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the Bridgton Community Center, 15 Depot St. Donations of $5 are asked.

The lecture is part of the “Architecture Is Art” project at the Bridgton Community Center, which has received funding from Maine Expansion Arts Fund of the Maine Community Foundation.

PARIS – A craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Maine Veterans Home, 477 High St., South Paris.
