GORHAM – The University of Southern Maine will host several information sessions for its teacher preparation program, the Extended Teacher Education Program (ETEP) in southern Maine.

Faculty members, interns in the program, a graduate admission representative and an adviser will all be present.

Sessions will consist of a presentation by faculty and staff followed by question and answer period. Participants will receive a packet of materials about ETEP, graduate admissions information and financial aid information.

The sessions are for those who are considering a graduate teacher preparation program to learn about what the University of Southern Maine has to offer. Individuals interested in any of the following areas: kindergarten to grade eight general education, grades seven to 12 English, math, life or physical science or social studies, kindergarten to grade 12 foreign language or special education – are all welcome. No preregistration is required.

The ETEP program is a nationally known and state approved teacher preparation program that combines a year-long internship in the classroom with the pedagogical course work required for state certification.

The information sessions are as follows:

Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Bailey Hall, Room 10, Gorham campus.

Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., 113 Masterton, Portland campus.

Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Lewiston/Auburn campus.
