LEWISTON – Paul M. Demers, 55, of 50 Verrill Road, Minot, died Thursday, Oct. 4, shortly after arrival at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Auburn, May 15, 1952, a son of the late Roger and Liane Quirion Demers. He graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1971.
He worked as a supervisor at Morin / Lachance Brick Yard, employed there for the past 36 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for the town of Minot for 15 years.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. His adoring twin granddaughters Sara and Ashlie will especially miss their “Gumpa.” He enjoyed traveling to Florida with Disney as a frequent stop. He will be remembered for his love of life, his hard work and his devotion to family.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, the former Glenna Carson, of Minot; a daughter, Paula Potratz and her husband, Robert, of Poland; his granddaughters, Sara Dawn and Ashlie Marie Potratz; his mother-in-law, Grita Carson of Crawford; his sisters, Doris Everett and husband, Wayne, of Poland and Therese Henson of New Gloucester; his brother, Maurice Demers and his wife, Diane, of Minot; a sister-in-law, Jackie Demers of Auburn; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Raymond Peacock of Cape Cod. Mass., Carolann and Daniel Rys, of Cape Coral, Fla., David and Bonnie Carson of Glenburn and Wayne Carson of Sugarland, Texas; special friends, Amber, Dawn, Marie and Laurie, who were like daughters to the family.
He was predeceased by a brother, Marcel Demers.
