I am so upset with the recent court decision that found Kyle Karkos innocent (Oct. 3) and how that judge is allowing him to walk away with no jail time for a death he is responsible for.

As a driver, I know that I am responsible for what I do when I am behind the wheel of a car; I am the one who decides the speed and the way I drive.

I believe Karkos should not be allowed a driver’s license and should be sent to the youth center to serve time. That might possibly make him and others think before putting others in danger.

I was at the Edward Little graduation ceremony in 2006, and a chair was left open for Kenny Jellison. He never got to sit in that chair, never got to complete his education or continue on with his life.

Accidents happen, but it is my opinion that Karkos was driving to endanger, and a person died. All mothers need to stand together and fight that type of crime against our children who have been hurt by others.

If Karkos is truly remorseful, he would do community service and speak to others about his actions. Such actions put us all in danger – all of us.
