Before you chalk this one up as an automatic win for the No. 12 Pride, compare the schedules. Maine has lost to perennial I-AA power Massachusetts, unbeaten I-A foe Connecticut and Villanova in overtime. Hofstra (2-9 last year) logged a narrow win over Stony Brook last week after beating Furman, Albany and Rhode Island. The last two games in the series had dramatically different outcomes. Maine lost 44-0 here in 2005 before handling Hofstra at home last year, 21-10. The Black Bears corralled the Pride to minus-9 net rushing yards in that victory. Maine last beat a ranked opponent on this same weekend a year ago, trouncing No. 17 Towson, 28-7.
