An editorial published in last Tuesday’s edition was critical of the McLaughlin Foundation’s lack of public recognition for Richard Tribou McLaughlin regarding his part in the preservation of Bernard McLaughlin’s property on Main Street in Paris. According to the foundation’s executive director, Mike Desplaines, the foundation has assembled an exhibit of the garden’s history, dating back to the 1940s, with mention made of Richard Tribou McLaughlin’s contributions.

The exhibit, which is housed in the foundation’s barn, was completed two weeks ago. While the public has been able to tour the facility as people visit the garden, there’s been no public announcement of its existence or content. The official ribbon-cutting for the exhibit will be held later in the fall.
