Lewiston – Marlene I. Durgin, 74, of 65 Park St., Sabattus, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Montello Manor.
She was born in Waterville, Dec. 1, 1932, the daughter of Doris Masterman and G. Harold Henderson. She grew up and attended Waterville schools, graduating from Livermore Falls High School. She then attained her degree from Farmington State Teachers College.
Marlene was married to Robert Arthur Durgin, April 19, 1958, and resided in Sabattus after her marriage and raised her family while being a substitute teacher. She attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Lewiston, and Sabattus Baptist Church, and her faith was a very important part of her life. She enjoyed yard sales with her husband and will be remembered for her excellent cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Durgin of Sabattus; a daughter, Linda J. Roy and husband, Adrian, of Sabattus; a son, Robert E. Durgin and wife, Kathy, of Litchfield; granddaughter, Amanda Roy and fiancé, Rodney Harris, of Lewiston; a great-granddaughter, Lacey Harris of Lewiston; a sister, Gail Jones of E. Livermore; and an aunt, Charleen Jolin of Winslow.
