Rainbow awards local scholarships

LEWISTON – President and Chief Executive Officer Philippe Moreau of Rainbow Federal Credit Union awarded the first of the credit union’s annual high school scholarship awards to 10 local high school seniors.

“For the past six years Rainbow Federal Credit Union has successfully implemented a scholarship program to recognize members who have shown excellence in scholastics, extracurricular and community activities and who are interested in advancing their education on the college level.

The college scholarship program will continue its tradition, as the high school scholarship program begins a new tradition,” said Moreau.

Ten graduating seniors from local high schools were recently presented $500 scholarships.

Under a new program introduced this year, two students from Edward Little High School, Lewiston High School, Poland Regional, St. Dominic Regional and Leavitt Area high schools were awarded scholarships.
